In-Grid: A philosophical pop-swing artist

For those of you searching for something new to listen to try In-Grid.

Born in Italy, her parents owned a small movie theater in an area known as the "cradle of music". She was named after an actress named Ingrid Bergman, her father's favorite movie star. Ingrid grew up listening to the sound tracks of many different movies. You can tell that these sound tracks have had a major influence on her music.

Most of Ingrid's music has a theatrical flare to it. Vive le Swing, my favorite, has a very retro feel to it but is still very lively. Her music is great to dance too. Her first big-time single was actually Tu es Foutu, literally translated as "you are f***ed."

Tu es Foutu broke all the records in Italy as the most played song and was an international hit. Since then, she has released five more albums, 3 "dance" albums and 2 "chill" albums, as well as multiple singles. She has toured in Greece, Poland, Italy, and Russia, and many other countries.

I think the most surprising fact about Ingrid is that she has a degree in philosophy. While I am completely inept at interpreting philosophical ideas, I invite you to interpret her music videos. But according to her website, her philosophical training has brought her music to Burlesque qualities. I really like this style of music. Its kind of different, and it takes something old and modernizes it. But please, check out her music:
